Appleton’s Bar & Restaurant

Andy & Lyndsey Appleton are the dynamic husband and wife team behind the hugely successful & popular Appleton’s Restaurant & Bar on Fore Street.  They have a loyal following of fans who have fallen in love with their Italian-inspired dishes with a Cornish twist. The reviews say it all about their relaxed atmosphere and lovely dishes.

Sensational! We visited for supper last night, and we were in food heaven. Every single mouthful was joyous – and the beef fat croquettes were the best food I have ever eaten (TBH – pretty much everything was the best I’ve ever eaten). The service was superb, attentive but not intrusive, and we enjoyed a long, lazy evening of fabulous food and chat.

“If you are in Fowey any time, this restaurant is a must. For any foodies, this is an amazing experience and with a lovely friendly welcome”

We advise you to book ahead to avoid disappointment.

Captains Hanks Crab Shack

If its dry day and you fancy an al fresco lunch with a view, then I’d recommend Captain Hank’s seafood restaurant at Berrills Yard, which is fast becoming known as the town’s seafood quarter. Its Fowey Street Food at its absolute best serving the tastiest crab sandwich, fish finger sarnies, Fowey scallops and other less known seafood delicacies such as charred Cornish cuttlefish from a charming French vintage van right next the river with a gorgeous view over to Ferryside , Daphne Du Maurier’s home and still lived in by her son Kit Browning. On definitely not to be missed if you visit during the season.
