Absolutely gorgeous apartment. Very tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. My husband and I stayed with our 2 year old for 10 days and I don’t think we once said ‘if only it had …’. It also has a full inventory of kiddie stuff which is so helpful when holidaying with a little one and meant our car wasn’t crammed full of toys, carriers, potties etc. We used the spa access voucher a few times which was also very family friendly and extremely convenient – just a few mins walk. It’s a bit of climb back up to the apartment from the centre of Fowey but you don’t get views like those from the apartment for nothing. It really couldn’t have been a better base for our holiday- definitely a holiday to remember. We’ll be back again I’m sure. Thanks Fiona.

Beautiful apartments furnished to a very high standard. Wonderful views of the river and out to sea. Use of the pool and spa at Fowey hall. We booked both apartments for a 30th birthday celebration and all had a fantastic time (18MONTHS TO 55). Everything has been thought of and everything you could possibly need is there for you, even buckets and spades for the very close beach. We will be booking again

This 2 bed apartment is in a great location in Fowey only a short walk away from Fowey Hall Hotel near, the main car park, where you have complimentary free entry to their lovely indoor swimming pool and hot tub. As the weather was lovely and sunny most days we didn’t make use of this facility but had a quick look just to see where it was in case. A great advantage of the location is that there is a good size dedicated parking area at the rear of the property which means you don’t have to drive through the very narrow streets of Fowey town center. It is beautifully furnished and really clean and fresh with everything you could want, even welcome hamper with a cream tea and local apple juice as well as milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits to get you started. The standard was up to a boutique style hotel with thick quality towels, including towelling robes and a really comfortable, French style king size bed with a lovely wool duvet to boot. The kitchen was very well equipped including an espresso machine. We also liked the fact that there was a good-sized entrance porch where the two separate front doors for the two apartments were and this had lots of coat hooks and box shelves to put wet dirty walking boots in as you come back from a long walk along the fantastic coastal path. It was so lovely to come back after our walks and great meals out in Fowey, albeit up a steep hill, to relax in the spacious sitting room and look out of the Juliette balcony to watch the many yachts, fishing boats, rowers and sometimes the big china clay ships which were fascinating to see coming along the river guided by the very skilled tug boat. The view never gets boring looking across to Polruan, up the estuary and out to sea. The whole booking process and arrival details were efficiently dealt with by Fiona in a very friendly and welcoming way. I would highly recommend this accommodation with its special location and views.

The town of Fowey is beautiful, and a great base for exploring the nearby attractions, with beaches, coastal walks and the Eden Project all within easy reach. I stayed at Retreat to Fowey with my wife and our two young boys (aged 2 and 5) and it was perfect for us. The apartment is well equipped with high-end appliances in the kitchen and the boys loved playing with all the toys and games. There was also a treasure trove of beach equipment free to use – children’s wet-suits, body boards, wind breakers, buckets, spades, nets – all greatly appreciated. The views from the balconies look out over the harbour, and the walk into town is short, though the whole town is very hilly so be prepared! One of the main reasons we booked was the access to the indoor pool at Fowey Hall as we’re well aware of how unpredictable the weather can be. Fortunately, we only had one rainy day, and this was a good fall-back option. I’m sure we’ll return to Cornwall in the future and we would look up Retreat to Fowey again.
